18months on……

I thought I would bring you up to date with our progress as our official sign off. We have just completed the driveway and have a few minor things to finish off…. Enjoy. Please feel free to contact us at anytime if you have any questions. Bye for now.

4th December – Our Pool!

Well can’t believe it. I got my wish. A pool, grass and a final occupation certificate. All completed and time to sit back and start relaxing with that glass of wine on the alfresco. Some fun titivating to do. The driveway and side access still need to be done, but currently to a point that we can cope with. Such a satisfying feeling!

November 15th – so nearly there!

Mowed my lawn for the very first time today. Very satisfying. The pool fence is up so we hope to get the inspector ‘sign off’ this week so we can continue with the pool in order to finish prior to Christmas. The builders went to all the trouble of changing the location of the pool filter only to realise that it wouldn’t fit under the pool platform. Wouldn’t you think that they should know their product? Potentially a $3000 mistake which they won’t acknowledge is their oversight!

November 7th – The Pool starts to look like one!

After a weekend away revitalising ourselves, we start the next step to finishing off the pool. It looks so good and blends in nicely to the house. The lining is white with blue flecks.

October 29th – Plants & Fencing

So close now to being finished. Met the certifier on site this week and I think, fingers crossed we have the full occupation certificate. Our wonderful landscapers who I highly recommend – Out There Landscapes (www.outtherelandscapes.com.au) have turned our mud /dust bowl into a beautiful garden. The pool (Crystal Pools) is going slowly and pressure is on to finish before Christmas. Council will, I hope, sign it off in time.

October 19th – We have grass!

Well I must be pathetic! It’s official. Rocks, grass, walls and plants – the things I get excited about. How the whole feel of the garden and hours changed one afternoon when the lawn was laid. Sooooooo exciting! The plants go in tomorrow, the pebbles fill the gaps around the pavers and the driveway will be finally completed with the side access once the pool is completed.

October 11th – The Garden Begins…

Whilst we wait for the pool to cure, our wonderful landscapers “Out There Landscapes” have started. We have finished the very large retaining wall along the eastern side of the property so fencing can begin between the two properties. They are also finishing off the front wall which is part of council conditions as well as the side with flower beds so we can fill with colourful plants. Our plantation shutters are also well and truly complete.

September 18th – the pool

Well we have been in since 4th August and spent most of the time in mud due to the rain. But who cares, we are in and loving our new home. The pool is well and truly on its way and will be poured on Monday pending weather. Once that is done we wait. By the end of the month we should have pool fencing and other council conditions booked in to move forward so we get our full occupation certificate. We just have to get a keen concreter who will take pity on us and install shower drain holes every square metre in the driveway to help feed the tree on council land!
